Volunteer

There are many ways to get involved at the pantry:

Volunteer your time during pantry hours:

We have many different "jobs" to do:

  • Greeters welcome guests at the door, offer coffee & treats & lead them to the next step.
  • Computer Hosts register guests & print our shopping lists for the guests to complete.
  • Runners fill shopping bags with the items off the lists as well as stock shelves & "package" items into correct portion sizes.

It's easy to volunteer:

We’re using VolunteerSpot to schedule our upcoming activity.

Donate to help stock the pantry:

A product list is available with the items & sizes we need. PRODUCT SIZE IS IMPORTANT!. Since we are part of a cooperative, the guests are allocated a certain amount of an item per month. We want to make sure that they receive at least the amount guaranteed. When smaller sizes are received, we either give double amounts or attach smaller items to equal the amount the Partnership has assigned.Click here for list of sponsor churches

You can drop off your donation
at any one of our sponsor churches. Click here for list.

Organize a Product Drive at your workplace or church:

This is a great way to introduce people to the pantry. For many people tangible items are the best way to give. It also brings home the itmes that so many of us take for granted - those things that are cut out of the budget when money is tight. Click here for more information & materials to do this.

Promote the work of the GNPEP throughout the community:

WE need to get the word out - to volunteers, sponsors & clients!

  • Encourage prospective guests that this is a safe place to come for personal essentials.
  • Encourage donations by individuals, churches, community groups & businesses.
  • Encourage volunteers to do their part.
